I had put Corban in swimming lessons only because I knew he could swim, I just didn't know if he had very good technique. But he did. This was Jarons first swimming lessons. I know I missed the bandwagon on him. It took him so long to be comfortable in the water. Last year, he wanted to go on the 10 foot drop water slide at Roaring Springs, but you had to be able to swim to the stairs. I had told him that if he could somehow get across the swimming pool without touching, I would let him go. It wasn't a pretty sight - but he made it. So just before he went, I told the life gaurd..."You may be getting wet today". I think the current helped his doggy paddle to the stairs. Well, in swimming lessons he did leaps and bounds. He is an amazing swimmer with great form. I no longer ever have to worry about him in the deep end. Jordan on the other hand, thinks she can swim, she's pretty sure of it, but....can't. I have been in after her, twice, fully clothed. She actually can move forward in the water but isn't strong enough to tread water to get a breath of air. I say moves forward and not swims because she literally runs in the water, face down. Her feet are a goin' and so are her arms - just underneath her. I don't think the picture does it justice. But as you can see - no fear!
